Top 10 iOS 8 features!

Apple continues to impress us with the highly managed new features with iOS 8, some are visible and some aren't. There are many new features but I will cover my top 10 here today.

10. The recents/ Favourites tab!

It has the best feature, it makes accessing your recent contact as easy as pressing your home button twice, I really like the way it's set out, how the tabs expend and shows more options about what you should do about your contacts, you can easily make a call, send a text message or make a FaceTime call by just clicking a button. you are also able to add Favourites by heading on over to the phone's app.
Location: Recent Tab on top of multitasking tray. Please double tab the home button to access. You are able to

9. Third Party implements with photos app

This feature comes with only the apps within the AppStore. This is just for apple apps, Apple is allowing others to access there apps.

In this case the example (photo above) is "Fragment" so basically you can use all the functionality of the app in the Apple's "Photo" app.

As you can see above; I am using the "Fragment" app inside the Apple's iPhone App.
There are countless number of awesome desgins to make your photo look how you want to have it.
Soon there will be other developers importanting the awesome feature with their amazing apps. Look out for it in the AppStore!

8. Quick Respond To a Notification

From personal experience, this comes in very handy!
Basically, while your browsing though your you apps and you receive a notification, you can simply "Pull Down" on it reveal the action you see below in the photo. You may slow "Slide UP" to dismiss a notification.
Keep in mind that this feature ONLY works with the supporting apps such as Apple's Messaging app and there are other application in the AppStore that have this implemented.

7. "Hey Siri"

Apple has done an amazing job with this feature, it makes it a lot easier for driver to concentrate on the road and still be able to access Siri when you they wish to by just using the command "Hey Siri" this will activate Siri like you normally have to by pressing and holding the home button. There is only one problem with this feature, you can only use "Hey Siri" to activate Siri while its connected to power, only down side but I'm sure there are many factors is to why this, there is an easy fix to this issue. If you would like be able use Siri without it being connected to power, then you can simply Activate Siri and use the command "Hey Siri" it works perfectly, soon i will do a video on this. Please comment below if you would like me to do a video on this!

6. Hide Photos/ Videos

If you are like me and don't people to see your ugly face or whatever the reason may be, you simply "Tap and Hold" to access this feature.

5.  Swipe to Interact with Notifications in Notification Centre

You are simply able to swipe left and get the options (photo below" such as "Mark as Read" or "Delete" with the Mail App, Messages and more to come through the #appstore, developers are hard at work the moment.

4. Personalised Share Sheets

Please see the photos below to get an understanding of how you are able to customise your share sheet just the way you want it!

3. Siri Knows What Song is Playing on The Radio

This feature come from a well known App Called "Shazam". Apple some how intergracted this feature into Siri where we can simply ask Siri the following to identify a song;
 "What song is this?"
"Who Sings this?"
"What's the name of this track?"
"What song is playing?"

After identify a song you are able to ask Siri to "Add this track to my wish list" or "Buy this song"(as shown below)

2. Show Your Friends Where You Are

This Feature comes in handy while meeting a new friend or basically meeting anyone, just share your location and it will show you the exact spot.
To access this, please Tap Details in the Messages app then "Share My Location" (as shown below)

1. Battery Usage Statistic

With previous generation of iOS updates such as "iOS 4, 5, 6 and 7" we weren't able to see what application used the most of our battery. iOS 8 comes in very hand and can help us identify which apps are draining your iPhone's battery life.
To see this for yourself, please head onto the settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage to see which of your apps draining the most battery.
